Te Pūwānanga Issue 5 June 2011
The past few months has seen significant activity in the life of Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga. In late January, we completed and delivered to the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) a mid-term review statement concerning the future of NPM until 2014.
In this issue we report on, among many other things:
• one of our research projects, Kanakana harvest mātauranga: potential tools to monitor population trends on the Waikawa River, Murihiku
• the new Te Pae Tawhiti: Māori Economic Development Research Initiative launched in Wellington, March 2011 • our new research plan and priorities
• the Mai Review special print issue
• our role at a workshop in Vanuatu to raise awareness about how climate change will affect local farmers – you can also view online videos produced by the farmers! http://mediacentre.maramatanga.ac.nz/vanuatu.php
