Dr. Andrea Reid is a citizen of the Nisga’a Nation and an Associate Professor with the University of British Columbia’s Institute for the Oceans and Fisheries. She has launched and is leading the Centre for Indigenous Fisheries, working to build an inclusive hub for the study and protection of culturally significant fish and fisheries. Born in Lefweluan, a Mapuche community in Wallmapu, Chile, Elisa is a native speaker of Mapuzugun, the Mapuche Indigenous language. She is a professor in the Department of Education at the University of Santiago in Chile.
